What I’ve Learned from #AKwritingChallenge

Sadly, #AKwritingChallenge is coming to an end today L

But don’t worry, tomorrow is the start of a whole new writing challenge J

I want to thank JC Wing and A.K. Lawrence for adding me to their writing group and coming up with the challenge. I’ve enjoyed being part of the challenge.

For the last 30 days, I’ve talked about everything.

I’ve written about my least favorite snack food, my favorite pair of shoes, and my favorite household appliance.

Throughout the writing challenges, I’ve learned how to open up. As I’ve stated, I’m a shy person. Sometimes it’s hard for me share details about my life. I don’t mind talking about my pets, my hobbies, or my favorite bands. Those are things I’m comfortable sharing. But during the challenge, I found myself sharing personal tidbits.

For instance, I talked about my anger issue involving my friend. Then I talked about my fear of driving, and of course let’s not forget the embarrassing moments post. I still cringe thinking about those humiliating moments.

These are things I wouldn’t normally share with others, but with the writing challenges, I had no problem talking about them.

Writing has always been an outlet for me. I find it easier to express myself through writing rather than speaking. So I think that’s one of the main reasons I was finally able to open up to everyone.

Now that I’m more comfortable opening up to others, I’ll be sharing more tidbits of my life.

So who’s ready to read more of my posts for #WingWritingChallenge?
