The first thing I do in the morning is look in the mirror.
I can be rough looking as soon as I wake up. I’ve got the bed head, plus since I’m not much of a morning person, I tend to have a scowl on my face.
Trust me, it’s not a pretty sight.
But after I’ve washed up and combed my hair, I look refreshed.
Since I work at home, I don’t have to get too gussied up. Usually, I just comb my hair, sometimes I’ll throw it in a ponytail. I’ll also put on a little chapstick.
If I got out of the house, I’ll put on a bit of makeup. I only do lipstick and some eyeshadow. As for foundation, blush, mascara, and all that other stuff; I don’t bother with that.
I don’t see how women can wear all that stuff on their face. But if that’s what they want to do, let them do it.
Anyway, throughout the day I’ll occasionally catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror. As the day wears on, I tend to get stressed and my appearance changes. I can go from looking refreshed to sweaty to tired. My hair goes from looking neat back to being a mess. Sometimes I may see acne popping up in places or have dark circles under my eyes.
Again as I said, not a pretty sight.
At the end of the day, after I’ve showered, I look in the mirror one last time. By now, I’m more relaxed than stressed. I’m ready to settle in for bed because I need my energy for tomorrow.
