Favorite Television Shows

Word of warning.

This post may be a bit too long. Today’s topic for #WingWritingChallenge is television shows.

I’m a TV fanatic, in fact my family jokes that I spend too much time in front of the television.

There’s so many shows that I like, so for these post I broke them down into categories and explained about a few of my favorites.

Daytime: As everyone knows by now, I love soap operas. I love the drama and romance aspects of the shows. The first show I watched was The Bold and The Beautiful, then I moved on to The Young and the Restless, As the World Turns, and Guiding Light. Those were the main soaps I watched, although I would occasionally tune in to Passions or Days of Our Lives.

As for other daytime shows, I watch. You can find Maury, Jerry Springer, and The Price is Right playing on the screen in my house.

Animated:  As a child, I loved watching cartoons. Every morning, I’d wake up to watch Looney Tunes, The Flintstones, The Jetsons, or Dexter’s Labatory. I loved to watch the shows before I headed off to school.

Classics: I’m a sucker for old time TV shows. My parents got me hooked on them. I remember as a kid watching Nick at Nite when they’d show classic shows such as I Love Lucy, I Dream of Jeannie, Bewitched, The Bob Newhart Show, and WKRP in Cincinnati.

I also liked a bunch of the 80s classics too. My favs from that period were Married with Children, The Golden Girls, Miami Vice, and Alf.

Just thinking about these shows brings back the good ole days.

Thankfully, I’ve got stations in my area that air these old shows so I can still watch them.

Crime: As I mentioned in a previous post, I’m a fan of crime shows. I like scripted shows such as Criminal Minds, and Law & Order.

I also love shows that explore real life criminals. On the weekends, I tune into Forensic Files, Deadly Women, Snapped, and Deadly Affairs.

Current: While I mostly prefer the classic TV shows, there are some newer shows that I like. Some of my current faves include: This Is Us, Too Close To Home, and Lethal Weapon.

I could go on forever talking about television, but I think I’ve written enough about my favorite shows.

Now, it time for you to share.

What are your favorite shows?
