#WTMOCOT
Four beautiful women seek fame and fortune in Hollywood, the City of Toys, where actresses are like dolls, playing pretend on the big screen.
Marlo: a former child actress from New York City.
Rhonda: a small-town beauty queen.
Kim: a “nice Jewish girl” with a painful childhood.
Guyla: a “serious actress” with a debilitating, stress-induced illness.

Marlo, Rhonda, Kim, and Guyla, become friends living in the same apartment complex, in the city where dreams and disasters go hand-in-hand. They come to rely on each other as they deal with sexual come-ons, crazed stalkers, jealous starlets and the constant pressure of trying to make it in showbiz. But when the pressure gets too much, will their friendship save them or will the City of Toys break them?

New Release: Concordant Vibrancy 4 Inferno

Greetings, one and all!

If you’ve been following along this past week and a half you probably already know that this is the day that everything has been leading to.

During day one we introduced you to the ingredient of Purpose. Adonis Mann brought up, “Express-Oh”.

Day two we took a look at Commitment via Carol Cassada’s contribution, “Not Always Like This”.

On day three it was all about Consequences; we delved deep into this ingredient via Harmony Kent’s story, “The Fireman”.

Day four examined Love with Beem Weeks’ tale, “The Complications of Fire”.

Day five was overtaken by the ingredient of Reinvention as told by C. Desert Rose’s story, “Calliope’s Inferno”.

Day six told us that Tenacity was an important ingredient no matter what the circumstance through Y. Correa’s, “Moxy”.

Day seven touched on how the ingredient of Risk can be as scolding as any through Synful Desire’s, “Antipode”.

Day eight cleverly showed how Conviction was as good ingredient as any to keep the fire roaring. Da’Kharta Rising showed us how in “The Chronicles of Aidan”.

And last but never-ever least, Queen of Spades indubitably demonstrated how Empathy is the most powerful of ingredients when maintaining our soul’s fire burning in, “The Calefaction of Insight”.

Now that the picture has become clear and Inferno’s stew is bubbling, come serve yourself us a bowl. Come get your copy of, “Concordant Vibrancy 4: Inferno”.

Lacey Campbell dreams murders before they happen.

The night she dreams of a man strangling a young woman while crooning the lullaby “Hush, Little Baby,” she tries to convince herself it doesn’t mean anything. The next day she’s horrified to learn her dream was reality. Then she dreams the second murder….

Detective Ford Jamison is called in to help the local police, and he soon has a working theory about the murders. His belief that the killer is using the lullaby as a “blueprint” to target women who resemble Lacey, doesn’t slow the killings. Lacey is now afraid to fall asleep at night because the next face she sees in her dream might be her own.

As a hurricane churns ever closer to the little coastal town, danger and suspicion spins out of control. Time is running out. Can they stop the killer before the last verse of the lullaby?

ABOUT THE AUTHORS

Jennie L. Morris

As a self-proclaimed Anglophile and research geek, it’s no wonder Jennie L. Morris writes Romance and Historical Fiction with a flair for realism. Her love for learning led her to obtain degrees in Anthropology and Biology, which she often relies on during her writing process. Coming from NE Ohio, and raised on a small beef cattle farm, life was anything but ordinary growing up.

She currently has four paranormal romances published, Irish Love, Scottish Love, Chocolate Peanut Butter Delight and Mated by Prophecy.

Joshua Ian

Joshua Ian can easily be captured by a witty turn of phrase or a low-bottomed electronic bassline. If you manage to combine the two, then you have his heart forever. He lives in New York City and writes mostly historical, speculative, and sci-fi/fantasy fiction but he does love a good mystery. He watches too many movies, eats too much dark chocolate, and falls into way too many Wikipedia rabbit holes– but it’s all in the name of research (or so he tells himself). His short stories have appeared in Twist in Time Magazine, Coffin Bell Journal, Chaleur Magazine, Enchanted Conversation eZine, and the 5th Annual Queer Sci Fi Fiction Anthology ‘Impact.’ His first book-length collection of steampunk & gaslight fantasy stories entitled ‘Through the Spindle’ will be publishing in late 2019. Lorah Jaiyn

Lorah Jaiyn focused on her writing career after a nasty case of empty nest syndrome, followed by the dreaded absent-Gramma disorder due to her son-in-law’s Air Force career. One novel, many anthologies, and several novellas later, she still hasn’t figured out her favorite genre. Her projects range from horror to romance, with a little fantasy thrown in for good measure.

Lorah lives in North Central Florida and enjoys exploring the great outdoors and creating with polymer clay. She fosters baby squirrels when needed and credits her Jack Russell as both her muse and biggest distraction, with a close second being her Hallmark Channel addiction.

Vanessa Ross

Vanessa Ross is a service dog trainer, writer, mother, and wife. Her passion is aiding others that have fallen on hard times. She comes from a military family and loves her country. She started out as an avid reader because she was told she would not succeed as a reader due to having severe dyslexia. Vanessa refuses to let her disabilities stop her and read 550 books the first year. Then she was told she could not write because she has dysgraphia, she had a new goal. She has published multiple books, in the paranormal romance and mythology genre.

Kendra Moreno

Kendra lives in Texas where the summers are scorching, and the iced tea is straight sugar. When she isn’t writing, she likes to go on real life adventures with her husband and son and hopes to one day scuba dive the Great Barrier Reef.

New Release: Mind In Chains by Bruce Perrin

Mind In Chains by Bruce M. Perrin
Published November 4, 2019
Mystery/Thriller/Suspense

Synopsis:

It was spring in the Midwest and the perfect storm was
brewing.

A scientist of considerable renown, Dr. James Conroy, Jr., was leading a
grassroots movement to improve access to medical treatment in the United
States. At the same time, a group known as the Crusaders for Common Sense was
rallying around the cry, “Stop Playing God with Medicine.” Claiming that
medical science merely maintained the body while the soul rotted from within,
they stood opposed to Conroy—violently opposed.

Like most residents of St. Louis, Missouri, Sam “Doc” Price and Nicole Veles
watched in horror as the violence escalated. But after a noted medical
researcher was attacked at Nicole’s apartment, she and Doc were plunged into a
world of domestic terrorism.
Doc found an unlikely ally in FBI Special Agent Rebecca Marte. Together, they tried
to make sense of the Crusaders’ actions that defied all logic. The terrorists
showed no fear of identification—or even death. In the end, Doc risked
everything he loved in a final, deadly gambit with the Crusaders, only to find
that the cost of his ploy might be more than he was willing to pay.

Excerpt:

Seven years before the events described in the book
and Nurse Martha Wilson has discovered a missing newborn:
As they turned into the wing with the nursery, Martha
slowed and turned to Jorge. “They’ll find her, won’t they?” Jorge said nothing
for a moment, so she added, “The truth.”
Jorge sighed. “I can’t really say. Is there an angry ex-spouse somewhere? A
childless neighbor? All I know is that the police will run down every lead
before they give up.”

“But if it’s not friends or family?” Martha asked although she thought she knew
the answer.

“Then you’ve done everything you could. Getting this on the air in 20 minutes
is a good start; the first few hours are the most important. After that, the
chances start going down fast. And after a few days ….” He shook his head but
didn’t finish.

Martha shuddered and squeezed her eyes closed. These were facts she had heard
before, but they had been only meaningless statistics at the time. Now, they
tore at her heart, the pain worsening with each tick of her mental clock.

Two hours later, after meeting with the local police who had no news about Baby
Jane Doe, Martha couldn’t control her emotions any longer. She started sobbing.

Six hours later, the interviews were complete, and Martha took a taxi home,
afraid to trust her driving. She went to bed, hardly speaking to her husband.
The next day, she called in sick. And the day after. And the day after that.

To Martha, the news was always the same. There were no ex-spouses. The
neighbors either had children or were retired with their children now raising
their own. Video cameras had caught the comings and goings from the maternity
wing at the hospital, but everyone belonged. Simply put, there were no
suspects, and the trail, if there ever had been one, was ice cold.

After ten days passed and there was no news about Baby Jane Doe, Martha went to
work only to resign. She couldn’t face another expectant mother, knowing she
had lost a human life left in her care.

About the Author:
Bruce Perrin has been writing for more than
twenty-five years, although you will find most of that work only in
professional technical journals or conference proceedings.  After
receiving a PhD in Industrial/Organizational Psychology and completing a career
in psychological research and development at a major aerospace company, he’s
now applying his background to writing novels.  Not surprisingly, most of
his work falls in the techno-thriller, mystery, and hard science fiction
genres, examining the intersection of technology and the human mind now and in
the future.  Besides writing, Bruce likes to tinker with home automation
and is an avid hiker, logging nearly 2,500 miles a year in the first six years
of Fitbit ownership.  When he is not on the trails, he lives with his wife
in St. Louis, MO.

New Release: Ghost Writer by AC Williams

Ghost Writer by A.C. Williams

Genre: Romantic Suspense / Mystery
Wren Fallon has a love for the written word, a passion for prose, and a skill for weaving webs that rival the prowess of the most manipulative of Black Widow spiders. While her spoken tongue is awkward, words flow from her pen like water rushing from a fresh spring. She is a ghost writer. A voice for the voiceless. A nameless narrator telling tales for another. She didn’t write for just anyone, though. Wren Fallon had the tremendous feat of penning new material for the reigning queen of the twisted, herself, Welsh-born Morven Ainsley.
The press assigned Morven many names.
The Maven of Mystery
The Duchess of Suspense
Queen of the Cliffhanger
At the ripe old age of 92, Morven Ainsley had published one hundred and nineteen full-length novels. Her first novel, titled The Starling, was published in the summer of 1948. Her most recent work, a fierce best-selling novel titled The Crystal Ocean was released just six months ago, and is enjoying its twenty-seventh consecutive week atop internationally recognized best seller lists.
Morven Ainsley is an enigma. A mystery in and of herself. Despite the awards, the critical acclaim, and the leagues of adoring fans, Morven Ainsley’s greatest mystery cannot be found in the shelves of a bookstore or in the archives at the Portland Library.
Morven’s most tremendous mystery to date is her own disappearance. The author vanished from public view in 1983. No one, not even the ever-prying journalists at the South Main Gazette, have gotten a glimpse of Portland’s famed Mystery Maven. Despite this, Lorcan Press still releases five Ainsley novels per year. Her text never tired. Her writing never showed signs of her advancing age. As far as documentation went, Morven Ainsley ceased to exist in the early ’80s. Only two people know how to reach the esteemed author. Not in person, of course. Never in person. Not even by telephone. Written correspondence was her chosen method of communication. Only Wren Fallon, Morven’s ghost writer, and Marcus Withering, her estate manager, were privy enough to receive her messages. The author’s floral scrawl wound gracefully over cream, perfumed stationary pages. These letters were the only proof that Morven was actually alive. But then, one day, the letters stopped, removing the last shred of evidence that the Maven of Mystery was still among the living.
This is the story of two women. One, a struggling writer, the other, no more than a ghost. Like the willowy bend of  phrase tossing to and fro, the sharp gust of wind whooshing through the plain, the subtle flicker of a candle’s ember in a damp and dreary room, the hammer of a heartbeat in a body presumed to be dead. This tale has more than it’s fair share of surprise. Morven would have it no other way.
When the weaving of a web comes undone. When all clues slip loose and fall into oblivion. When the silent can send the loudest message of all. Only one person can unravel the truth.
Enter: The Ghost Writer.

KZ Riley

KZ Riley is 29 years old and lives near Lubbock, Texas where the wind blows constantly. She has been married to her husband for 7 years and they have two daughters together. She has been an avid reader for as long as she can remember and recently took that love to the next level. First, it started by being an ARC and BETA reader for authors, then she began her own review page to let others know of amazing books she was reading, and finally she came to the ultimate outcome: an author yourself. For several years, she played with the idea of writing a story and even jotted down notes and storylines, but never had the courage to finish and publish it. It was with the help from the Penned in Ink group that she put her fears aside and decided to go for it.

Hopefully you enjoy the awesomeness she has brought you and you will be kind enough to leave a review on Amazon and/or Goodreads.

Thanks so much for taking the time to read this story and I hope you will read more from me in the future.

Lauren Tisdale

Writing was not something that Lauren ever thought she’d want to do professionally. After becoming a mother, she stayed home to care for her son. In between diaper changes and nap times, Lauren found herself embarking on a journey of discovering herself through written word; with stories that somehow needed to be told, and characters who gave her glimpses into new worlds. It was there that she began her journey in fan fiction writing with a group of friends. Something sparked and a passion was lit. With many other independent authors as mentors, she grew and learned all she could to master her skills. What once was a hobby, led to a passion and then became a dream. Encouraged by her family and friends, she set out to pursue her writing, finally taking part in National Novel Writing Month, which brought forth her first novel – Circle of Secrets.

Lauren is married to her husband of eleven years, Brett. Together they have one son, Payton and a lab retriever, Meeko.  She calls a small town in south-central Louisiana home. Staying busy is what she’s used to, but it keeps life interesting. She has a severe case of Wanderlust.
